1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING?
I have been doing CrossFit for 3 years now.
2. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE 3-46 GRIT?
I wanted to invest some time in myself and I asked a good friend and member at the gym to take me to workout with her. After meeting Chausse and Randy, an unreasonable amount of burpee box step overs later, I was sold. Came back for more and never looked back.
3. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D GIVE SOMEONE ABOUT CROSSFIT?
The workouts will never be what you want to do… but you’ll always come in for a good sweat to leave with more support from an amazing community.
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT? WHY?
Thrusters – it combines a lot of my favorite movements and makes you feel really badass while doing it.
5. IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE WHAT WOULD THE TITLE BE? WHY?
“Just Keep Moving” Whether in life, or during a WOD, it’s always better to keep moving forward one step at a time and you’ll be amazed at where you end up.

1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING?
I have been doing CrossFit for 9 months. I’m still seeing big improvements in my strength and conditioning!
2. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE 3-46 GRIT?
Some of my friends were gym members and they told me that the coaches are great and the workouts get you into great shape. When I came and tried out the gym for my first class, I was instantly hooked!
3. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D GIVE SOMEONE ABOUT CROSSFIT?
Just show up and move. I love GRIT because all you have to do is show up and they take you through everything from warming up, to working out, and stretching. As long as I can get to the gym, I know I am going to be challenged and leave feeling accomplished!
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT? WHY?
I love the bike! I have rode many miles on bikes outside of CrossFit so it’s a stronger movement for me. I also love how versatile the bike is. Use it for warm ups. Use it for cool downs. If it’s a leg heavy day, you can use your arms more. If it’s an arm heavy day, you can use your legs more.
5. IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE WHAT WOULD THE TITLE BE? WHY?
“Made for More” For most of my 20s I wasn’t living to my full potential – eating junk and drinking beer to cope with a stressful job and isolation. On top of that, my Dad passed away from a short battle with an aggressive cancer. I decided to focus on doing things that made me better so I prioritized my health and how I spent my time. Since then I joined a Search and Rescue team and GRIT shortly after. Both have been amazing communities where people do hard things to grow in order to be there for themselves and others.

1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING?
I have been doing CrossFit for over 10 years now! And at 52 I’m in better shape than I was at 40.
2. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE 3-46 GRIT?
When my previous gym dropped its early morning classes I was ready to do my own thing from my garage. Evan convinced me and the rest of our group to try GRIT. The greatness of this gym was immediately apparent.
3. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D GIVE SOMEONE ABOUT CROSSFIT?
Be consistent. I have definitely seen the benefits of making 5:30am a part of each of my weekdays.
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT? WHY?
This hasn’t always been the case, but power snatches have become one of my favorite movements. I like the complexity of it and how I always have room for improvement.
5. IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE WHAT WOULD THE TITLE BE? WHY?
Not sure about my life, but for my CrossFit life it would be “Dumb and Dumber”. It’s taken me far too long to understand when to push harder, when to pace better, when to go lighter, heavier, etc.

1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING?
I have been CrossFitting for 4 years but have been more serious about it for probably 2 years.
2. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE 3-46 GRIT?
I chose GRIT because it was the first one that popped up on a Google search when I moved back home. I went to the gym and met Chausse. She was amazing and welcoming. I knew my search was over when I met her.
3. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D GIVE SOMEONE ABOUT CROSSFIT?
Don’t hesitate to start. A lot of people are intimidated by it. People don’t realize that CrossFit is for people of any age or any body. We can modify everything and most people do modify. When you join CrossFit you don’t only advance your fitness, you also expand your family.
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT? WHY?
Someone is going to hate me for this, but I LOVE wall balls. I think they use every part of your body and I guess my inner child loves throwing the wall ball. I find it very rewarding every time the ball hits the target.
5. IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE WHAT WOULD THE TITLE BE? WHY?
My movie title would be, “Change is Possible”. I used to be a heavy drinker with crippling anxiety and depression. One Day I decided enough was enough and I quit. GRIT guided me and encouraged me to stay on track and I’m forever thankful.

1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING?
I have been doing CrossFit for 9 months.

I’ve been on the fence about CrossFit for like 6 years but never really took the initiative due to not knowing anyone in that community. GRIT showed up less than 2 miles from my home.
3. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D GIVE SOMEONE ABOUT CROSSFIT?
Stick through it, push through the pain if you feel comfortable, the reward comes in time as you continue to improve with form/technique and start throwing more weight around. It starts to feel amazing internally.
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT? WHY?
I enjoy squatting because it works out lots of legs and I feel like my strong suit is my legs.
5. IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE WHAT WOULD THE TITLE BE? WHY?
If I were to choose a movie it would be an older one, “Demolition Man”. It’s a reminder of the past/future and where I’m headed in life!

I have been doing CrossFit for about a year and a half now.
2. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE 3-46 GRIT?
The reason I chose GRIT was because my husband Tommy went to one class and said how amazing and welcoming everyone was. So I decided to try it out and have been hooked ever sense.
3. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D GIVE SOMEONE ABOUT CROSSFIT?
One piece of advice I would give would be to just try your hardest. The workouts can look intimidating but all movements can be modified and with a great community pushing you, you can do anything.
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT? WHY?
My favorite CrossFit movement would be a power clean. I feel strong quickly repping them.
5. IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE WHAT WOULD THE TITLE BE? WHY?
The title of my life would be “The pursuit of happiness”. I try to find joy in everything I do. Regardless of having a good or bad day I’m always trying to find the light in a negative situation.

1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING?
I started CrossFit at GRIT in 2016 which seems crazy to me. 8 years has gone by so fast!
2. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE 3-46 GRIT?
I started at GRIT after my wife tried the 6-week challenge program they were running and she loved it and the people she was working out with. She convinced me to try it and I’ve been hooked ever since.
3. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D GIVE SOMEONE ABOUT CROSSFIT?
Everyone can do CrossFit. No matter what is programmed for the day, every movement can be modified to meet your ability. And everyone modifies the workouts! Even the most experienced athletes!
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT? WHY?
I would say the squat snatch is my favorite movement. It seems so simple. Just pick the weight up over your head and stand up, right? I’ve been working on it for eight years now and still have plenty of room to grow!
5. IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE WHAT WOULD THE TITLE BE? WHY?
Thinking about my life (especially this week while my wife is out of town), two movie titles come to mind. In the morning when I wake up it’s “Mission Impossible”. The alarm clock goes off at 4:30am and it’s off to the gym, then get the kids to school, get myself to work, back to get the kids after school, get them to baseball practice or games, get dinner, get everyone showered, get all the homework done, get everyone to bed and try to be a good husband, friend and business owner along the way.
Then at night when my head hits the pillow “It’s a Wonderful Life”. How did I get so fortunate to have all of these amazing things in my life?!
